Eritrean asylum seekers abandon Italy for Switzerland

The RSI Radio TV Swiss reports that the numbers of refugees, more than half Eritreans are passing through Italy. The municipality of Chiasso (max capacity 134 beds) and Losone, as Switzerland is accepting refugees, due to a new legislation of its confederate States. But the directors Antonio Simona and Carmela Fiori say that the places are already full.In June 2014 Antonio Simona said the refugees being escorted to the immigrations offices and the immigration centre by the Italian/Swiss border patrols where more than a 1000, more than half are Eritrean. These asylum seekers are being temporarily settled in pensions. They pass across all the Italian peninsula in order to ask asylum, they prefer to risk it every day.
Why? Refugees are abandoning nations like Italy and asking asylum in Switzerland. This might sound like a victory to right wing politicians in Italy like Lega, but as society Italy has failed to ensure the basic human rights for these people. Most of them, while crossing Italy, are often seen sleeping in the streets and outside the train stations.

These authorities say that the asylum seekers single cases will be processed as soon and as swiftly possible, within maximum of 1 month.
For the new wave of refugees arriving there old military barracks being prepared, so that they can locate them in small groups.
There were 13 accommodations manged by the Red Cross back in 2000. Eleven of them were shut down by the then director of Health and Social Affairs. Authorities find themselves  in the condition of hasting to create new accommodations.
What will they do in the mean time? The asylum seekers will be voluntary employed in public utility activities: gardening and over jobs to make themselves useful. There goes another difference with Italy: refugees here have rare opportunity to learn a skill while waiting. They will receive 30 francs per day which will be given to them by the time they leave Chiasso. Why? Because the authorities had problems of  drunk asylum seeker men roaming the streets of Chiasso.

The choice of the asylum seekers to refuse having their finger prints taken in Italy at the Lampedusa immigration reception centre is because their future is brighter elsewhere than in Italy. Its a save guard. Italy has a system that is old, slow and most of the time corrupt. Better than staying in a country like Italy that is set back on many social issues, nonetheless the humanitarian situation of the refugees.

Still Italy, in its reportage's, wonders why are Eritreans fleeing they nation by the thousand to refugee camps all over the world.
as the Italians saying goes "fra i due mali scelgo il minore" (between two  pains choose the less painful)
Exactly so.No matter how unfair this all Swiss prejudice and judgement might be, these refugees have been trough much worse ordeal, they consider the odds and prefer this treatment than being unemployed in Italy.
Curious how it seems that the fact that Eritrea has been under a dictatorship for the past 20 years is so unknown to most Italians. Probably because the Italian media has never made its cover news? Italy has not taken a clear position regarding its actual diplomatic and economic relations to Eritrea. Why would a democratic nation like Italy still keep ties with the government knows for its undemocratic ruling?
